Thank you for your interest in volunteering at St John.
Our community wouldn't be the same without all of our amazing volunteers.

You will find on this page all of the information you need to get started in the Safe Environment Program.

What is the Safe Environment Program?
The Archdiocese of Seattle has a long commitment to the protection of children, youth and vulnerable adults. For years, we've taken steps to ensure the safety of those who serve and are served in our parishes, schools and agencies. This program was established in 2007 to ensure those safety commitments, while also offering assistance to those who are suffering in the aftermath of abuse.

St John the Evangelist Parish and School fully supports the Archdiocese as stated in this letter from Father Crispin:
Fr. Crispin on Safe Environment

To get started you'll need to take the initial class.*
You can sign up for a class by registering at this website:  http://www.virtusonline.org
*  Classes are in-person and online.  The online option is at the bottom of the list of classes and is called " Protecting God's Children for Adults (Online Training)."

We also need to have a background check on file for each volunteer.
When you register on the Virtus website you will be asked to run your own background check through the TRAK 1 system.  Contact the parish office if you have any questions.

The last step is to read the pamphlets and sign the Personnel Agreement form.  The documents are on the Virtus website and can be read and signed electronically.

If you have completed all of the steps above, you only have to do an online update every three years to stay up to date.
To complete the online update go to this website: http://www.virtusonline.org

Thank you for helping to keep our Parish and School safe!
