Sister Parish in Peru

St. John's Parish has been working to establish a Sister Parish relationship with San Miguel Parish in Ilave, Peru.  In October of 1999, Father Bill McKee and four representatives of St. John visited Peru.  Another delegation traveled to Peru in the summer of 2000.

In February, 2001 the Pastor and Assistant Pastor of San Miguel visited St. John for one week.  Father Narciso, pastor, and Father Faustino were able to attend parish meetings and parish socials, as well as con-celebrate the weekend Masses with Father Bill. They were very impressed with what they learned about St. John and went home with the prayers and blessings of all of St. John.  Before they left they gave the parish a gift of a beautiful, embroidered wall hanging, featuring their cultural image of Father/Mother God.

St. John 's School has a relationship with La Inmaculada, a school and orphanage for girls in Puno, Peru.
